Martial Arts Cats

By Chris Leave a Comment

Here are two cats and I mean real cats using Wing Chun and Ju Jujutsu martial arts techniques. It’s hilarious.

I got this clip from my friend, Lawrence from TanDao who’s written a fine post on martial arts using a cat anology. I like the big cat’s Tai Chi strategy of being centred and waiting for his moment to attack.

It was probably doing abdominal breathing but I can’t be absolutely sure. You know what cats are like – they never tell 🙂

Wu Style Taiji Form

By Chris 2 Comments

I discovered this YouTube clip through Coleman Fink’s facebook page. It’s the Tai Chi form I practice as demonstrated by Li Li-Qun wu style grandmaster, disciple of Ma Yeuh Liang.

Chen Zhonghua’s – Workshop in New York – Feb. 2011

By Chris Leave a Comment

I discovered this clip from my twitter and facebook friend – Coleman Fink. I like the way Chen Zhonghua’s explains and shows that the whole body needs to be intergrated when redirecting a force and also the need to sink.

Push Hands & Sparring Tips Pt 2 – Guo Shifu

By Chris Leave a Comment

More tips on push hands and sparring by Guo Shifu. I like his explanation and demonstration on sparring and moving like a ‘sphere’.

Push Hands & Sparring Tips Pt 1 – Guo Shifu

By Chris Leave a Comment

Here’s a very good explanation and demonstration of Push Hands and sparring by Guo Shufu.

I’ve watched this clip several times. The first few times I concentrated on reading the subtitles and then focused on the actual demonstrations.

It’s certainly a great resource if you want to learn the finer points of Push Hands and tips on sparring.
