Sports Chi is an innovative program that teaches you how to improve your skill levels and perform at a consistently high level in both training and in competitive games.
You will learn practical skills and philosophy, adapted from Tai Chi Chuan, that include mindfulness, correct body structure, breathing, balance, relaxation, and Chi. These are all essential skills for success in any sport – individual or team, contact or non contact.
The aim of a workshop is to provide a deeper understanding and better execution of existing skills. As the famous former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden once said, ‘it’s what you learn after you know it all that counts’.
What is Tai Chi Chuan? Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese health and self defence system that comprises of the Hand Form – Push Hands – Chi Kung/Nei Kung – Self Defence – Weapons (Spear, Sword, Sabre) and Yin Yang philosophy. It focuses on using the minimum of effort for maximum results.
These calming and energising skills are also ideal for your own physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
There are three options for Sports Chi, with expanding content and increasing levels of complexity. The objective of all workshops is to improve your current skill level and performance during training and in games.
