Tai Chi Wake Up Call

I have two alarm clocks. One beside my bed and the other is my ’embrace the tree’ (standing posture) training.

The bedside clock alarm gets me out of bed but when I stumble into the living room and start my 25 minute standing posture practice –  I really wake up.

Tai Chi: Better Late Than Never

Just back from a four day holiday and it felt great to have time away from running workshops.

The week before the holiday began I ran 9 Chair Chi sessions for various aged care centre besides working on our BJ Seminars International business. It was so good to get away and relax.

Tai Chi: A Sense of Achievement

Six days a week I practice my ’embrace the tree’ posture for 20 minutes  and as soon as I finish I always feel I’ve achieved something worthwhile. From Monday to Friday I start practicing at 6.30am and on a Saturday, practice a bit later in the morning.

Compulsory Tai Chi

I have a fixed routine for my Tai Chi training, six days a week, but occasionally I get so busy that I can’t fit everything in.

When this occurs I make sure, at the very least, I do my stance training – it’s what I call my ‘compulsory Tai Chi’ training.

Feedback for a Tai Chi Teacher

I was practising my ’embrace the tree’ posture the other morning and wasn’t sure if my knees were behind my toes or over them.

I looked in the mirror but I still could not determine whether I was practising correctly; the knees should be just behind the toes otherwise you will strain your knees.
