    It took a few seconds for the old synapses to click about the term “archery” – it has always been referred to as “bow stance” in our classes. Now that I’ve made the connection, I’m looking forward to trying this tip. It sounds to me like it is a specific example of moving from the centre.

    Yes, the term ‘archery stance’ was used by Master Ma Yueh-liang (Wu Style). I understand both terms are correct in describing the forward stance.
