Chair Chi Workshops Galore

By Chris Leave a Comment

chair-chi-training-picWell, it’s  been a very busy year and I’ve done some number crunching regarding the Chair Chi workshops I delivered for 2014.

Here’s the breakdown:

279 for aged care centres
3 for school teachers

That’s an average of about 5 workshops per week for 14 regular clients.

Also I’ve run Chair Chi Training workshops in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.

So all up I’ve delivered 287 workshops!

I’m booked out for 2015 as far as Chair Chi workshops for aged care residents go, but we’ve planned Chair Chi Training Level One and Level Two workshops for aged care staff in Melbourne, Vic country (Sale, Shepparton, Bendigo), Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane.

I’m also looking at the possibility of providing Chair Chi Training Level One and Two overseas – more about that later.

I hope everyone has a very happy Christmas and great new year.

Aged Care: Chi and Parkinson’s Disease

By Chris 2 Comments

ElderlySI had a very interesting conversation with a resident at an aged care centre during my Chair Chi workshop recently.

He said the 3 key Tai Chi techinques I teach helps him with his Parkinson’s disease. As I told him and others in the group, what I teach doesn’t cure but it helps. And he agreed.

No matter what Chi exercise I teach, I constantly emphasise that what I teach is not a cure but can help you feel better physically, emotionally and pyschologically. And when I ask residents (which includes high care residents) how they feel after a session, they usually say they feel much better.

Even those with Parkinson’s disease.

By Chris Leave a Comment

chair-chi-training-picI’m looking forward to next Monday’s Aged Care Chair Chi Training Level One workshop.

We’ve almost to capacity but there is still room for anyone who would like to register – you’ll need to do it now as we’ll be closing off bookings very soon.

So far we’ve run this workshop in Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. And next year we plan to run more workshops including our Level Two for those who have completed Level One – providing there is sufficient interest.

Here are the details to the current Sydney workshop;

When: Monday, 17th November
Where: Adina Apartment Hotel, 2 Lee Street (next to Central Station)
Duration: one day – 9.00am-4.30pm
Fee: $341 (includes GST) – includes catering and comprehensive training manual. 10% discount for three or more from one organisation (contact us for further details)

Please register here.

If you miss this one and are interested I’ll post up next year’s schedule once we finalise the dates.

Great Chi Kung Location

By Chris Leave a Comment

When I’m inbetween Chair Chi workshops I usually go to the Tim Neville Arboretum in Boronia, Melbourne, Australia to practice ChiKung and/or Tai Chi.ChiKungPark

The seat in this picture is where I practiced my Chi Kung set and the view was ideal for circulating the Chi.

Small Space Tai Chi

By Chris Leave a Comment

There’s not much room  in my place at the moment to practice Tai Chi as I’m painting kitchen cupboards and there’s stuff everywhere including my living room.

So early this morning I did my ’embrace the tree posture’ stance  in my office and later on a Chair Chi session in my bedroom.

So you can practice Tai Chi in small places but I don’t think I’ll practice the spear form indoors today. 🙂
