Here’s a way of relaxing the body when you are practicing standing postures such as Embrace the Tree.
- Scan your entire body and check for any tense muscles
- If you discover a tense muscle direct your attention to it and then breathe into it and exhale
- As you exhale, feel the muscle completely relax
When you use the scan and breathe method make sure you don’t lose your alignment. It’s a good idea to check your alignment after you do this technique in case you have moved out of the correct position.
This is a technique I use when I practice my regular 20 minute Embrace the Tree stance.
