Push Hands in the Park

By Chris Leave a Comment

There’s nothing like a two hour Tai Chi Push Hands session to get the Chi flowing on a Sunday morning.

I caught up with the Push Hands group yesterday after missing the last two sessions. There were seven of us there including a first timer.

I enjoy these sessions as it gives me a chance to test my skills against various experienced Tai Chi players including newcomers. We practiced free style Push Hands, both fixed feet and moving, and it gave me a gentle cardiovascular workout.

And with about 2 hours of non stop practice it certainly emphasises the need to relax otherwise you’ll be exhausted, which defeats the purpose of Tai Chi.

If you are interested in joining in with this friendly and non competitive group then here are the details:

  • Next session October 7th (Sunday)
  • 10.00am – 12noon
  • Fawkner Park, South Yarra (Armadale Road entrance)
  • beginners and experienced players all welcomed
  • free

Why not come along and have some fun.
